Terms and Booking Conditions
Please Read Carefully
- CONDITIONS OF HIRE
The contract is made between the Visitors and the Owner of the property for which the booking is made, and is deemed to be made subject to these Conditions of Hire and the Booking Conditions and Information contained herein. Home from Home Holidays act as Agents for the Owners and are not principals. The acceptance of a booking from a Visitor creates a contract between themselves and the Owner of the property. Once the signed booking form and Deposit have been received at our office, the holiday booking is then firm, and the full rent will be required, even if you have to cancel your holiday. (see clause 12 in these Booking Conditions).
- PAYMENT AND DEPOSIT
The Visitor will be asked to complete and sign a Booking Form and send this
with a cheque for £130.00 to Home from Home Holidays to formally
secure the booking . Credit/Debit card payments are acceptable subject
to a surcharge, as applicable. This sum is made up as follows:
Deposit: £100. To be held against breakage’s,
damage and extra cleaning if it should be necessary. The deposit may
also be used to cover cancellation charges (see clause 12) and any
outstanding gas, electricity and telephone charges calculated at the
end of the hire period (as applicable). A higher deposit will be payable
for those properties that make an additional (exclusive) charge for
gas, electricity and telephone usage. Please see individual property
details in the main brochure for terms. Balances payable on deposits
over £100 will be detailed on the “Confirmation of Booking
Form” and must be paid in full, six weeks before arrival date
along with the full rental.

The Deposit or Balance of Deposit, will be returned to the Visitor as soon
as administratively possible after departure providing that everything is
in order and all outstanding charges have been settled. Telephone reservations
will be held for 7 days and officially confirmed once we have received your
completed Booking Form and payment.
Home From Home Holidays will hold the deposit as agents for the Owner and
the Owner will be liable to account to the Visitor for the full sum of the
deposit less any deductions applicable pursuant to the Conditions of Hire
and Booking Conditions and Information contained herein. Home from Home Holidays
will hold all deposits in a client Bank Account and no interest will be payable
to either the Owner or the Visitor.
The full rental must be sent to Home from Home Holidays 6 weeks before
arrival date. No reminder will be sent for this money. Please note: all
terms quoted in this brochure are per property per week.
2 (a) If any items left behind
after your departure are to be collected from a
property and/or returned, then a £10.00 handling
charge (incl. VAT), plus postage and packing will
be deducted from your returnable deposit.
2 (b) A £10.00 administration
charge (incl. VAT) will be payable by the visitor
if they wish to change their holiday dates after
the Confirmation of Booking has been issued, subject
to availability and the agreement of the owner.
2 (c) Home from Home Holidays
regret that we are unable to accept post-dated
cheques and will return any that are received,
this will incur an administration charge. Home
from Home Holidays accept no liability for any
charges incurred by the visitor should a
post-dated cheque be inadvertently banked early.
- PAYMENT BY OVERSEAS VISITORS
Visitors coming from abroad may pay by Bank Transfer to our Account at National
Westminster Bank PLC, 107 St James’ Square, Newport, Isle of Wight,
Clients Account Number 05077311, sort code 54 10 34, quoting the name of
the property booked as a reference. We will accept cheques drawn on any
British clearing bank in sterling. The Holiday Cancellation Insurance provided
by Home from Home Holidays does not provide cover for overseas Visitors
(see clause 13). We strongly recommend overseas Visitors arrange full travel
insurance (including cancellation cover) in their country of residence
as soon as they submit the signed Booking Form.
- GAS,ELECTRICITY AND TELEPHONE
Charges for gas and electricity are as stated in the brochure The majority
of our holiday properties have an inclusive rental although some do levy
additional charges for gas and electricity, which will be assessed by the
appropriate utility authorities at the end of the hire period. If a telephone
is installed at the property, it may accept incoming calls only. This cannot
be varied for any reason whatsoever. If outgoing calls are permitted the
charges will be assessed at the end of your hire period and deducted from
your Deposit.
- OVERCROWDING
In no circumstances is it allowed for the maximum number of persons stated
in the property description to be exceeded at any time. We reserve the
right to terminate the Contract and the Visitor will be liable for all
the full Booking Hire Charge and the whole of the deposit automatically
forfeited.
- KEYS/ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS
The details concerning the access arrangements will be clearly detailed on
the reverse of your receipt, which will be issued once the full rental
payment has been received. If keys are to be sent, they will follow under
separate cover approximately 10 days before commencement of the holiday.
On the day of departure, keys must be returned as detailed in your access
letter, BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE ISLAND. (Please note that late
return of the keys may result in a delay with your returnable deposit.)
- LINEN
Linen is generally not provided (unless otherwise stated). Visitors should
bring their own sheets, pillow slips, and bath/beach towels. Parties with
young children are asked to bring rubber sheets.
Linen may be available to hire, please enquire with Home from Home for further
details.
- ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES
Visitors to all properties (unless otherwise stated) may take up occupation
after 3.00pm on arrival and must vacate promptly by 10am on departure day.
(Please note that early arrival or late departure may result in a deduction
from your returnable deposit)
- DAMAGE
Visitors are asked to please leave the properties as they find them in a
clean and tidy condition.
Any damage or breakage’s are the responsibility
of the Visitor.
Please advise us of any breakage’s that occur before you vacate.
- BROCHURE
All properties described in this brochure have been personally inspected
by us before being accepted for entry in the brochure. However, whilst
every effort has been made to ensure that the details contained in this
publication are accurate as at the date of publication, no guarantee can
be given . The description contained in this brochure do not constitute
part of an offer or contract and are made without responsibility on the
part of Home from Home Holidays. Nor will Home from Home Holidays accept
any liability arising out of changes in circumstances affecting the property
between the date of their inspection and the period of cover by any booking
by a Visitor.
Should the holiday become unavailable, Home from Home Holidays will make
every effort to find suitable alternative accommodation but cannot be held
responsible beyond a full refund of monies received.
- PROBLEMS
We are most anxious that all Visitors booking holidays with us will have
an enjoyable time. In the event of a problem the Visitor must contact their
local agent immediately and we will do our best to resolve the problem
by referring to the Owner. If not mutually resolved, the matter may be
referred to arbitration by an independent arbitrator between the Owner
and Visitor, or appointed by the Association of Residential Letting Agents.
Details of your local agent will be shown on the Visitors Confirmation
of Booking Form.
No complaints will be considered unless raised immediately during the course
of the hire period to enable the complaint to be verified.
- CANCELLATION
Once the deposit and initial payments have been paid and accepted at the
office of Home from Home Holidays visitors are liable for all the charges
of the holiday, as a binding contract has been deemed to be made between
the holiday Visitor and the Owner. Any cancellation made by the Visitor
(for whatever reason) shall be in writing addressed to Home from Home Holidays.
The effective date of cancellation is when written notification is received
by Home from Home Holidays. Home from Home Holidays will endeavour to re-book
the holiday accommodation but a cancellation charge of £100 including
VAT, will be levied on the Visitor. If we are unable to re-book the accommodation,
the Visitor will be liable for the full amount due even if the accommodation
is not taken up (payment is due six weeks prior to the start date of the
holiday). We strongly recommend Visitors arrange full travel insurance
(including cancellation cover) as soon as they submit the signed Booking
Form.
- PETS
In some cases Pets are permitted. All details clearly state whether or not
pets are allowed. Where permitted, pets should not be left unattended and
must be exercised away from the garden. Please bring pet’s own bedding,
and do not allow pet’s to sleep on any furniture or beds. A small
charge of £25 per pet per week will be charged.
- HOUSEHOLD/ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES
From time to time household appliances, particularly electrical appliances
will “give up the ghost”. If this does occur, please advise
your local agent immediately and we will attend to the matter.
