Within easy walking distance there is an excellent village shop, a paper shop, two popular pubs, a church, and 2 waterside cafés at opposite ends of the beach. There is a recently-installed children’s playground on Gurnard Green, behind the beach huts. Stroll along the esplanade from Cowes to Gurnard in the evening and watch the ‘best sunset in the world’.
